FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Weather

  1. This is the Northwest. Everything you have heard about our weather is probably true. It rains frequently here. The good news is it rarely rains hard or for very long.
  2. Northwest photographers love cloudy days and soft rain. The textures, the soft light and shadows, the interesting clouds and skies all contribute to amazing photographs. We are not that crazy about bright sun. It's boring!  Although it does make it easier to see Rainier and the Olympics.
  3. We have ways to protect equipment from getting rained on including umbrellas and rain bags. You are responsible for the safety of your equipment though.
  4. Weather will rarely stop a class or a tour. Only in the case of extreme rain storms or the rare winter ice/snow.  We will call you ASAP in the case of an events cancellation / rescheduling. A full refund or credit will be offered.

Abilities / Gear

  1. We have students who have just bought their first $100 point and shoot camera and we have seasoned professionals with cases full of gear take our classes. It doesn't matter to us. We will work with you at whatever level you are at. We will answer questions, make suggestions, and introduce new techniques and use of technologies to create photos you only dreamed of taking.
  2. Some classes may deal with more advanced topics or techniques. If you are not sure if you are going to be okay in the class, talk to the instructor before hand. They will give you some honest feedback.

What Should I Bring to Class?

  1. Your camera, a fully charged battery (an extra one if you have it) and an empty storage card. You are going to be taking lots of photos in class.

  2. Tablet and a pen or two for notes. You will always remember more the next day if you write down some notes that you can review. We are going to be giving you lots of new information and ideas.

  3. Some questions. Think about some issues or confusion you have been having and write them down. We will try to address them in class. I like to call this a whine list.

Guarantee

As with any service, we want you to walk away satisfied with your classroom, tutoring or tour experiences. If you honestly believe that your expectations were not met, we will gladly refund your money. In the case of a four week or all day class, we asked that you express your concerns before the halfway point of the course in order to receive a full refund. We will provide your refund within a week of the request or sooner.
