HDR and Panoramics are two very useful techniques used for expanding the traditional limits of our digital cameras.

Capturing the brightest and darkest areas is a challenge. HDR is a compositing tool used to merge several exposures

HDR is a technique where you can shoot 2-5 images or more at different exposures and then composite them into one master image resulting in MUCH wider dynamic range. This is useful when shooting a landscape with bright skies and dark foliage or a room interior with good view outside a window.

I will be demonstrating how to create an HDR using Lightroom and Photoshop.

Panoramics are a good option when we want to take in more of a scene than our widest lens will allow for. This might be an amazing landscape or even the a large room. In this case we can shoot from 2 to 10 (or more) images side by side and then “stitch” them together into one continuous image called a panoramic.

This part of the class will show you how to setup and shoot a good shot series that can be easily converted into a panoramic. I will provide tips on getting good alignments and consistency in the image. We will use Photoshop and Lightroom to demonstrate how easy it can be to create one of these beautiful images.
