Basics of editing and managing RAW formatted images
When your camera’s sensor records an image it records a LOT of data that is then fed into the camera’s JPG engine. Here many important editing decisions are made and all the data that your camera’s software feels is no longer needed is DELETED! If you dump the data onto your chip and do ALL of the editing yourself, you end up with a RAW image. If you enjoy editing your images, then here are some things you should know:
- Setting up your camera to shoot RAW or RAW+JPG
- Software requirements (we will be demonstrating using Photoshop Elements)
- The basic controls and how they impact an image
- Exporting images for different uses
- Managing the larger space requirements of RAW
It is recommended that you bring a laptop with photo editing software installed but it is NOT a requirement
